9th May Narrative Assessment - Independent Daily 5

Learner: Ameerah                 Learning Coach: Talia Morgan                  Date: 9th May 2016
Learning Area: iDevelop - Writing (Daily 5)
Learning Observed
Today Ameerah was caught doing some #Oresome learning! As Ameerah didn’t have a guided workshop to attend, she knew she needed to complete one of the Daily 5 tasks. She had already ‘read to self’ and ‘read to someone else’ during iRead and the previous workshop rotation. Ameerah decided she would like to ‘work on words’, so she did some writing. Ameerah wanted to copy out one of the books she was reading onto the whiteboard table. She wrote; “The Race” and then “No! We’re going to win”. repeatedly.
Evidence of learning

Ameerah is showing how she can be a capable and collaborative, independent learner. Who will she collaborate with next?
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Ameerah is developing her Capabilities in writing. She was able to Collaborate with another learner to share a book and write part of that story out (Relating to others). Ameerah selected and started an activity by herself (Participating and Contributing). She continued to do her writing without any learning coach support (Managing Self). Ameerah was using speech marks, capital letters and full stops correctly when writing her story from the book (Using Language, Symbols and Text).
Next Learning Steps
  • Write other pages out of the book.
  • Write your own story like the one in the book.
  • Continue to show engagement in driving own learning.
  • Share learning with home.
